Toward Inclusion: Genome Editing and Social Justice
The Global Observatory hosted a convening to complement the Third International Summit on Human Genome Editing. The Summit took place from March 6-8, 2023 at the Francis Crick Institute in London. On the evening of Tuesday, March 7, the Observatory hosted Toward Inclusion: Genome Editing and Social Justice at the nearby Wellcome Collection. This event brought together experts in intergovernmental organization, science and medicine, and ethics—including several Summit organizers—to discuss the constitution of the global and of social justice in the governance of human genome editing. This convening aimed to expand the discussion beyond the limits of the Third International Summit itself.
